Dipak Jilka is a Clinical Psychotherapist and Counsellor (PACFA-Registered), and Sex Therapist. He has extensive experience supporting individuals and couples through life’s personal, relational, and sexual challenges.
Qualifications
Dipak holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling from the Australian College of Applied Psychology (ACAP), an advanced clinical training in Gestalt Therapy from Relational Institute Australia., and a Certificate in Psychosexual Therapy from the Contemporary Institute of Clinical Sexology (UK). Using his unique combination of psychotherapy and psychosexual therapy training he provides comprehensive, evidence-informed support.
Therapeutic Approach
His therapeutic approach is integrative and client-centred. Dipak draws primarily from Gestalt, existential, and narrative therapies. Where appropriate, he incorporates cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) to help clients develop practical strategies. These strategies include managing emotional distress and navigating immediate challenges.
Working with adults and couples from diverse backgrounds, Dipak offers a thoughtful, collaborative approach which he tailors to each client’s unique lives He is committed to creating a safe, respectful, and non-judgmental space. One where clients can explore difficult emotions, relationship dynamics, sexuality, and life transitions with confidence and support.
As a mature-aged therapist, Dipak brings both professional expertise and lived experience to his practice, particularly, navigating the pressures of a demanding 40-year corporate career. Including, family responsibilities, changing life stages, and societal expectations of success. Dipak also understands the challenges of living in a multicultural society and the issues faced by people who emigrate to another country. This combination of real-world experience and clinical knowledge allows him to connect deeply with clients facing similar challenges.
