Profile

Imogen Todd (she/her) is a queer psychosexual and relationship therapist and qualified social worker. She completed undergraduate studies in social work before completing the postgraduate specialisation in psychosexual therapy at the University of Sydney under Dr Christopher Fox. Imogen is a member of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and the Society of Australian Sexologists (SAS).

Imogen holistically approaches clients, understanding the important intersections of culture, religion, ability, gender, sexuality, race, and class. She is passionate about empowering her clients, so they can have sexually satisfying and pleasurable lives. Imogen combines her social work background with clinical sexology to create sexual empowerment by challenging cultural and societal norms through advocacy, psychoeducation, and therapeutic intervention.

Imogen applies a trauma-informed lens and affirms queerness. She draws from various therapeutic interventions such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and Gottman’s Couples Therapy.  She collaborates with her clients to find the approach that suits them best and tailors therapy according to the needs of her clients.

Imogen has experience in working with the LGBTQIA+/queer community, sex workers, relationships, mixed-desire, high libido and libido concerns (mismatched libido), sexual assault survivors and sexual function issues such as painful sex, vaginismus, orgasm difficulties, erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation/rapid ejaculation, and delayed ejaculation.

Imogen Todd can support clients with general mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, and stress.  Her experience also includes assisting clients in addressing body image, performance anxiety, intimacy issues, and relationship conflict.  Imogen is passionate about psychological wellbeing and sexual wellbeing.

Imogen has extensive experience working with new parents in both perinatal and couple’s therapy. Supporting people adjusting to parenthood with a newborn is pivotal to forming healthy relationships. While also having, experience working with queer and non-queer relationships. Imogen can explore a range of fertility and family options. She also understands the importance of the parent-child relationship in later life.
