My therapy style is warm, conversational and practical. I value honesty and a little humour when appropriate. I take my work seriously, but that doesn’t mean therapy needs to feel formal. Some subjects are difficult enough to talk about without making the conversation harder than it needs to be.
Much of my work focuses on sexual wellbeing, particularly with men experiencing difficulties with erections, ejaculation, desire and intimacy. I also work with concerns about pornography and sexual behaviours, anxiety, trauma, grief and relationships. Sexual concerns sometimes connect with other aspects of life, and sometimes they don’t. Understanding the difference matters.
As a social worker, sex therapist and clinical hypnotherapist, I draw on different therapeutic methods to suit each person. Together, we can explore what’s happening and find ways forward that make sense to you.
Growing up in a Tasmanian Italian family shaped my appreciation of culture, language and people’s different experiences. I’m fluent in Italian, experienced in working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities, and an LGBTIQA+ ally.
Outside clinical work, I’ve spent more than 20 years volunteering in community radio, sharing my passion for all things Italian.
I also enjoy providing clinical supervision, helping practitioners navigate complex situations, question assumptions and develop confidence in their judgement. Good supervision makes room for honest reflection and the occasional uncomfortable question.
I’ve presented at national and international conferences and held senior leadership roles in volunteer-run organisations. Both have reinforced the importance of listening, sharing ideas and learning from others.
I hold a Master of Social Work from Flinders University, with qualifications in clinical hypnotherapy and supervision. I’m a member of the Australian Association of Social Workers and the Society of Australian Sexologists.
Having been part of Sex Life Therapy for several years, I know the practice and its people well. As Director, I want to support our practitioners and keep clients central to our decisions.
